A closer view of this necklace: [link]

This is an old piece that I never properly photographed nor shared. So here it is; I bought the pendant in Ottawa, Canada, about seven years ago. None of the chains I had really suited it, so I didn't wear it for five years. When I got to college, I joined the Society for Creative Anachronisms (SCA), a group devoted to Medieval and Renaissance reenactment, crafts, garb, and lifestyles. They taught me how to do chainmail, so I built this chain myself. It took about two weeks of intensive frustration and finger callousing, but it was totally worth it. :)

The design of the chain is from 12th century Europe, if I remember correctly. I believe it is a box weave. It is dense as hell and very heavy to wear, so I usually only wear it with my garb: [link] . :giggle:

It looks fantastic and it was definitely worth the work the chain mail matches the pendant perfectly.

Chain mail jewelry makes me happy.

A lovely work. You might try photographing it with the light more behind you or off to the size to avoid the glare. A piece of dark cloth would work well, too.
